 Airgun attack on Wensum

Eastern Daily Press - 9/9/00

Armed police scoured the banks of the River Wensum in
Norwich yesterday after a woman travelling along the
river was hit in the neck by what police believe
was an airgun pellet. The woman had surgery at the
Norfolk and Norwich Hospital last night to remove the
pellet, which was lodged near her collarbone. It is
believed the weapon was fired by someone hiding near
derelict buildings on the Rouen Road side of the
river. Although armed police were called to search
the area, neither the weapon nor the person who
fired it was found.
