You are absolutely right, Steve. Just to be able to
compete in Classic Self-Loader matches I had to have a
Vest-Pocket pistol (Colt Mod.1908 in 25ACP), Pocket pistol
(Mauser Mod. 1910 in 32ACP) and Service pistol (Luger 1915
in 9mm.Para) and there were revolver equivalents too. None
of these would get me anywhere in UIT Matches and I needed
another modern revolver for 1500, PP1 etc.
In contrast, not only that I can shoot all the currently
available pseudo-pistol matches with just two rifles, I
have to take anti-snoring tablets and a strong cup of
coffee to keep myself from collapsing with
boredom.
If the pistol ban is to stay, we need to extend the ranges
to 100yds and introduce more action shoots before the sport
dies altogether.
