He stated that he "was livid to receive this latest example of malicious and altogether oppressive action by the Government against a most peaceful and law abiding section of society." He asked, " How is it possible that we actually pay these politicians, and pay them handsomely, to come up with such unadulterated drivel? What possible benefit to public safety - the declared objective of the Government - would ensue from these recommendations? ALL shooters must actively oppose them now."
