Much has been said about an "us and them" attitude. Just what is trying to
be done in allowing foreign nationals to import, possess and shoot pistols
in the UK! So what if Mick Gault won four Gold Medals. Did he have the
courage to then use that platform, as did the three African American
athletes at the Mexico Olympics to made what was a truly shocking gesture
that is still even remembered today? No!
Some might say that receiving the Medal and sticking two fingers up at the
Union Jack would really have put the message across in a shocking manner
that would have attracted world-wide attention and world-wide interest as to
why.
If an Australian athlete run around a track with the flag that symbolises
Australia's Aborigines and gain world-wide publicity...just this
year...imagine...
But of course it will never happen. I'm all right Jack and Sod the bloody
rest of you..

I think that's unfair criticism. The British team aren't
demi-Gods, they're the same people who shoot down at Bisley like
the rest of us, they just happen to be a bit better at it than
we are.
This is a perfect chance for some positive PR, Mick Gault and
the other shooters did make an effort last time, it's not their
fault people didn't notice.
