From: "Brian Toller", [EMAIL PROTECTED] On Radio5 every Saturday morning on Adrian Chiles program they have a beginners guide to a sport which, I kid you not, has included such high profile sports as Ferret racing. Finally this morning shooting got a look in or more specifically Olympic shooting. They listed the events under rifle, pistol and shotgun and noted who our team would consist of which is apparently five strong. One small bore rifle shooter, Phil Babb, and four in various shotgun disciplines. A brief chat with the guy doing double trap over a phone link just explaining what it was and in the studio the director, I think, of the NSRA. I beg his pardon if I've got it wrong but I think it was Ken Sharp. Nothing negative but no mention by anybody of why no pistol team. A couple of halting comments from both shooting representatives that we need to raise the profile of shooting and the shotgun competitor seemed to think that the media had been relatively kind to shooting sports of late. One supportive comment from the presenter that it's quite often the shooting team that gets the country out of trouble with a medal or two. If you wish to thank them for at least giving us an unbiased coverage it's [EMAIL PROTECTED] When I get time later I plan on a thanks with a brief explanation of why no pistol team.
