From: "nick royall", [EMAIL PROTECTED] I had to hand in at 2 separate police areas, Met area 1 and Met area 5 and had verbal dealings with other Met areas as well as Essex Surrey and TVP on behalf of my club members. All of the Area 1 police were shooters and gave a service you would expect from someone in that circumstance. Met area 5 were good apart from some stupid comments from Inspector Morgan who was in charge of the whole thing, fortunately he seemed to have little contact with individuals and so no complaints there as an individual. All those I spoke to elsewhere were sympathetic and understanding but sometimes appeared to have bosses who were not and hence the need for intervention/clarification to ensure no upsets. It seems to me that the perennial problem of how an organisation acts compared to how individuals behave is the issue, commonly the only way of promotion for someone good at their job is to give it up and become an administrator instead of a doer. You may have read today that the West Midlands Police are being prosecuted along with the cusoms and excise(and possibly Robin Cook and Jack Straw) for their behaviour in the "arms to Iraq" scandal. I hope it is successful because it will prove that our common law rights do not allow immunity for perjury and malicious behaviour for arms of the government.
