Hitman 'behind killing'

POLICE are investigating a possible link between an
apparent contract killing yesterday and the shooting of two
Essex nightclub bouncers at the weekend.
In what seems to have been an organised "hit", Ronald
Fuller, 30, a decorator who also worked as a nightclub doorman,
was shot twice by a gunman on a motor scooter as he left his
home in Grays, Essex, yesterday.
A neighbour who heard the shots managed to write down
part of the registration number as the gunman fled. Others
were alerted when Mr Fuller's girlfriend ran from their
bungalow and shouted for help. Mr Fuller was dead on arrival
at hospital.
Detective Chief Superintendent Kevin Macey, who is
leading the inquiry, said that two doormen had been injured
in a shooting at a nightclub in Chigwell 20 miles away the
previous day.
He said: "There may be a link. I'm not aware of one
at the moment but I don't believe in coincidences."
