From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] MAN JAILED AFTER STUN GUN ATTACK ON TRAIN GUARD 071404 SEP 10 By Shenai Raif, PA News A railway security guard was knocked out with a stun gun and pushed on to the tracks at a station, the Old Bailey heard today. Shyeim Orridge regained consciousness and climbed back on the platform only to be spat at and told: "You should be dead". Mr Orridge, who worked on trains between London's Liverpool Street and Chingford stations, was attacked by a passenger who had been involved in a row with him two days earlier, said Peter Warne, prosecuting. The guard had spotted the man again on June 24, last year, at Wood Street station, east London, and tried to avoid him by slipping on to a train at the last minute. But the man and two others blocked his way and shouted abuse at him. After a row broke out, Mr Orridge tried to telephone his supervisor for help, but as he turned round he saw the passenger coming towards him with the electric gun in his hand. Mr Warne said: "Mr Orridge lost consciousness and fell off the platform on to the track. He managed to recover his senses and get up." But the man spat in his face and said: "Pussy, you should be dead." He ran out of the station with one of the other men. The third man, Jonathon Smith, 21, of Walthamstow, east London, was today sentenced to three months jail after pleading guilty to affray. Charges of endangering the lives of railway passengers and attempted grievous bodily harm were dropped because he had not physically attacked the guard. Judge Paul Collins told him: "You have pleaded guilty to intimidating and threatening a railway security guard. "They are very vulnerable people. They are there to protect everyone, including you, who use the railway." ############################# Oddly enough, if I'm being protected I would prefer if it wasn't by someone who was very vulnerable.
