Much as this may sound like a fun idea, please think it through first.
Pictures of drunk shooters are hardly going to portray us as responsible,
upstanding members of society, are they? I know you just want to show that
shooting is a fun sport, but pictures like that picked up by the press and
put out of context could be damaging.

I have read the whole 'shooters wives' thread and to be honest, it's a bit
pathetic. Our public image is just recovering, and yet suddenly it is a lad
thing? Gun culture is already a derogatory term, and now this? It is hard
enough to find a club with more than a few women in it, aside from wives
dragged along! How is this going to improve matters?
Besides, half the 'women' posting are men, so it really is a bit sad. (See
the Sherlock Holmes post, unless they deleted it already!) 18+ only, banned
from almost every search engine... The Sun doesn't have readers wives, only
'real' porn mags, who want to cut the bill for the models... I cannot see a
positive side to this development, even if it does succeed in getting
visitors.

And before the people behind this noble/nobble venture complain, we aren't
competing with your site with Shootersweb, we are just trying to _improve_
the image of shooting across all disciplines, and aid people in finding a
club. We don't want to attract the beer-swilling, thug element, since half
the country think we are already thugs and worse, while the other half don't
care. Perhaps you think you will get more visits with "Girls and Guns
Corner"? If you want more hits, Animated Gifs of people getting shot in the
head will get them, but it still isn't a good idea. (See
http://www.gunsite.co.uk/freegifs.htm for reasons why!) Search on
http://www.google.com/search?q=girls+and+guns if you want this kind of
thing. Hell, autopsy pictures draw the crowds, but suicide corner isn't
something I want associated with legitimate shooting with legal guns in this
country, any more than that we are all weirdos who get a sexual kick every
time we pull the trigger.

I notice you didn't mention that the gist of the suggestion is shooters
wives "with no clothes on". Perhaps Steve would have thought twice before
forwarding it?
