From: Norman Bassett, [EMAIL PROTECTED] IG's contention that crime was less complex and extensive prior to 1920 is mistaken. The whole of the Great War was one long firearms-related crime. The Great War was entered deliberately by a corrupt British government on the basis of a moribund 1839 treaty with Belgium that both governments had repeatedly ignored. It was entered as Kitchener observed "for blood and meat" - for the military kudos and monetary considerations - ie for a chunk of the German Empire in Africa, of which Britain eventually obtained two-thirds and France the rest. The Great War provided bribes to the Cabinet, senior Civil Servants and top military figures in a "ring" (or conspiracy) on every government contract let - that's as much for horse-fodder as for guns and ammunition supplied by the famed "Merchants of Death". When the Germans defeated the Russians and signed the Treaty of Brest-Litovsk with them in 1917 Russia ceded half of the European part of the Russian Empire (west of the Urals) to Germany. The Communists then took over Russia and covertly offered the Allies - and the Americans - gold bullion to continue the war until Germany was forced to surrender unconditionally and disgorge the Russian lands. That's exactly what was done. After the Great War the corruption of the British government was known to all the relatives of the soldiers the British government had murdered both with incompetence and deliberately in Belgium and France. The government were terrified of assassination attempts and of popular revolution and took steps to suppress popular efforts against them. Since that time the people who benefitted financially and their families and descendants have continued to suppress the truth about the Great War, which upon investigation looks metaphorically like a blanket over a pit of snakes. Half of their victims in the Great War continue to lie without formal burial in the mud in Flanders and France. The British government's behaviour in the Great War was one very long, very complex, very financially rewarding and very murderous conspiracy against the British people and it continues to run today in the form of the suppression of the truth about the Great War. And a part of that continuing conspiracy is the "hidden agenda" to eventually remove ALL firearms from the British people. Police corruption is a part of more general continuing political corruption in Britain. IG is refusing to talk about some things, blurring others and not being honest with himself or us. He talks about seeing the broader picture and he should stand back and look at it as outlined above. I'm looking forward to reading the Cullen Inquiry transcript on the web, which I think will be very thought-provoking about police and government corruption.
