I am not quite familiar with the ditty in question, but I'm quite happy to
accept that this is nothing more than a play on words via the literal
substitution of modern interpretation upon what are now archaic terms.
In other words, a comment on the misuse of language which would be not
unusual for Cooper .
You'd have to be pretty bloody humourless to suggest otherwise..........
