Actually thinking about this today, presumably 12 ft/lb
was decided on back when grey squirrels were pretty rare,
so shooting the smaller red squirrels wouldn't have been
a problem. With the fat sloath grey squirrels that inhabit
inner cities nowadays, a 12 ft/lb air rifle is less likely
to do the job.
Anybody know when grey squirrels started to become really
common? When were red squirrels put on the endangered list?
Steve.
