So The Sun is now scraping the bottom of any barrel to try and fill some
column inches. Christ this was the same paper calling for the complete
meltdown of any gun ever made in the same year (1996) this
story was current. (All of a sudden The Sun and its sister rag The People
suddenly seem to be shooter's best friends it seems!)
I can go back to the 1880s if you want and start quoting newspaper stories
about police incompetance, absence and underfunding in the East End of
London when 5 women were hacked to death in the streets. The police were
not there to help those girls either.

The purpose of the Sun is rabble raising - they were instrumental in
banning handguns but they are also likely to be instrumental in getting
it repealed. The Sun doesn't care, all they're interested in is making
money.
