From: "John Sukey", [EMAIL PROTECTED] Yes the Vietnam War was a long time ago, but dogfights have not changed that much. Depending on the enemy to play your game is a good way to get a parachute ride. If you have only missiles, the other side will soon figure that out and devise ways to get close. Thats what air combat is about. As for cannon rounds being dumb, thats what the pilot and his black boxes are for, to guide those dumb rounds. If his shooting is not up to par, thats why we have Red Flag. Dream on because rescue missions are now covert? Are you preparing for the next war or the last one? Conditions can change drasticaly. As for shooting down a hind with a missile, thats fine if you have a full load, and it was his choice, but the gun would have been just as effective. The other hind was taken out with a 500 pound bomb while in the air!! As for carrying the gun around after you have fired it, whats your point? The gun can be reloaded for the next mission. There is also that nasty feeling when you select your missile and it won't lock on or leave the rail. I have seen examples of that. The use of that particular aircraft over Iraqi airfields and that type of munition was not the best choice as the durandel would have been more effective in destroying a runway. Also you might ask the Iraqi tank column survivors about the effectiveness of a 30mm cannon, if you could find any survivors. Cluster bombs are an area weapon, not a linear one, unless you are carrying a lot of them. -------[Cybershooters contacts]-------- Editor: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Website & subscription info: www.cybershooters.org
