Please put me right on this one.
If I am carrying a knife in my vehicle I was under the impression I was
commiting no offence, particularly if I have need of it in the course of my
work.

You would think so, but there was that case in London where a guy who
worked cutting open newspaper bundles was convicted for having a couple
of knives in the back of his van, that he stated he needed for work.

If you are carrying a knife, you had better have an iron clad reason for
it.
