Questioning why police did not shoot the Luxembourg hostage taker "when he
appeared at a window" shows very little understanding of the pressures and
problems faced by police in these situations.

I thought that too.  He was in the middle of a bunch of kids,
opening fire through a window would have been totally irresponsible.
