Be careful what you seek. It is known that there are those amongst us
who are aware that the MOD seek to dispose of the burden of civilian
range safety approval, and there are those amongst the police who seek
to take on the responsibility for range safety certificates. This job
would then fall to the same people who administer shotgun and firearms
certificates.
Who in their right mind would encourage that?
Perhaps range safety certification, if necessary, should be the
responsibility of the Health & Safety Executive?

That's my thinking too, our local HSE guy seems okay by comparison
to our licensing dept.
