There are always rumours circulating but there's one running round up here
that seems to have come from at least two sources (one an RFD and another
possibly police related) to the effect that we will have pistols back in
some shape or form in about two years.
As it seems nothing further has happened in the cases going through Europe I
wonder if anyone can cast any light on what may have sparked this off. The
only suggestion I've heard is that its connected with the unification of
European regs.

I suspect the granting of a handful of Section 5 authorities for the
Commonwealth Games is the basis of this. How a local copper and RFD
can divine the will of the next Parliament I have no idea. I would
say the chances of handguns becoming legal again under this Government
are practically nil.
