It looks like Jeff Hoon's predicament with what to do about
replacing the army's LSW may be over. The announcement that
HM goverment will be supplying small arms and ammunition to
Sierra Leone must have him rubbing his hands together.
Rather than scrapping the weapons they could be given to
Sierra Leone as aid, the MOD could then legitimately charge
the aid to the treasury and in turn use the money to buy
something decent as a replacement - far better than
scrapping them don't you think (unless of course you are
in Sierra Leone's army).
