>BBC Ceefax reports (25/4/00) that a twelve year old boy in Hartlepool is
>undergoing emergency surgery to remove a pellet from his head following an
>airgun attack near his home. There is no report of any arrest being made.

The story appeared in _The Northern Echo_. He had a circular wound in
or above his left eyebrow. I imagine it may have been deflected
downwards and into the eye. All he had was a slight black eye. It
wasn't emergency surgery as it waited until at least the next day.
Depends what you mean by 'emergency' I guess. To me it means life
saving, to the NHS it may mean 'in a timescale measured in days, not
years'. Maybe I'm just a cynic?
