Can anyone give me a bit of info re: practical rifle - i.e. I would like to
find out more but know very little about it, where it takes place? clubs?
rifles used? courses of fire?

Also, I am about to renew my FAC (currently have a .22) - is it worth asking
for an extra slot for practical? if so, what should I ask for? is club
membership a pre-requisite?

Thanks in anticipation

Chris

Club membership is a prerequisite to get any rifle for the purpose
of target shooting. PR is a target shooting discipline so if you have
an FAC for target shooting that is all you need.

PR varies in content, some are field courses where you have to run
over various areas and engage targets at various distances (I call
this the US version, as virtually all US PR events are like this),
and other PR comps you essentially shoot at all manner of distances
and have "rundowns" from one distance to another, various time
limits and so on.

My experience is that the main thing you need is some hardwearing
clothes and boots!

Steve.
