We had an airgun attack here in my hometown (Greenville, Texas)
last week. Seems this stupid 18 year old bought a BB pistol at
Wal-Mart and proceeded to rob two convenience stores, one in
Greenville, and one in Commerce, about 18 miles down the road.
He was chased by a Commerce City Policeman who eventually shot
out the robber's tires.
Some sheriff's deputies from the adjacent county and deputies
from my county finally surrounded the kid. He would not
surrender the gun and several times put it to his head. At
this time the police did not know it was a BB gun - it looked
like a semi-auto.
The idiot finally pointed the gun at one of the adjacent
county deputies at which time one of our deputies, from 25
yards, at night (2AM), put a .45 Gold Dot through his left
side neatly taking out the vena cava and the liver. The
deputy who did the shooting was pretty shook up about it
after discovering the kid had only a BB gun.
It seems the kid just found out he had hepatitis C along
with other drug related and legal problems. What a way to go.
