A compendium of thoughts on California's interpretation of product liability
laws for firearms.
1. Guns are obviously toys because they should have features to prevent
injury by children to themselves so therefore cars and tin cans should be
banned or made of thicker metal because they too would fail safety tests as
toys.
2. If ballistic tests are to be applied to firearms and ammunition then
every household should have its water supply tested upon installation or
upon house sale for toxicity and the results kept by the police and checked
every time someone flushes the toilet (discharge in a public place?).
3. Ammunition, as a consumable should have its ingredients listed by
chemical name on the packet and if forced to shoot someone you should
receive your money back if it proves unsatisfactory and fails to kill them.
4. Matchboxes should be equipped with childproof locks.
5. Guns do what they are designed to do, like air bags in cars, they are
"waiting to work" systems. They should be built into every house in the
event of an emergency.
6. There should be a 24 hr waiting period and a background check on all
purchases of petrol and household cleaning products in case someone decides
to drink bleach or commit a vehicle crime.
7. Coca cola should pick up the bill for all dentistry in California.
8. Potatoes should be banned due to the toxic nature of the plant and seeds,
greengrocers to carry records of sales etc.
9. Owners of swimming pools should remove the water to prevent accidental
drownings.
10. Politicians should face public nuicance suits for forcing people to live
in conditions injurious to their health, ie California under their rule.
11. Traffic lights fail to stop accidents so they should be removed from
public places.

any other like with like comparisons?
