I was undertaking "butts duty" this Saturday on Short Siberia, just getting
ready to pull the target down when a pellet hit me in the cheek. I then
realised that the tinkling noises on the mantle was from shotgun pellets. I
can only presume that someone at the Bisley Shotgun Club was firing very
high.

As to the armoured car idea.....I've shot at Bisley for twenty years. In
that time I've only seen a handful of quarry crossing the targets (two young
deer crossed the targets this week) and only once has anyone at the point
been tempted to shoot. That was an old woody about 8 years ago.
