Today a friend showed me a pound coin he'd got in change the last twenty-four
hours. In the recess of one side of the coin--inside the flange--was a
precisely measured sticker stating 'No to the Euro.'

Whether this was something to do with William Hague's campaign, I don't know,
but the sticker had no publisher's name, or imprint. So I doubt it.

But it strikes me the pound coin is a good medium for making a point
politically--if the sticker is just right.

The guy who showed me the sticker said he thought sa nightclub in Manchester
had been prosecuted for using a similar sticker for advertising--on the
grounds of defacing the Queen's currency, or similar.

But isn't any publicity good publicity? Ands it's cheaper and quicker than
yellow stars, etc.
