Well, if you are issued a weapon, have performed the normal checks on its
safe condition (ie unloaded) and a bit breaks you take it out of use and
send it to REME workshops for a refit. It is not your fault and therefore
not a negligent discharge. The Armourers workshop will carry out a list of
proscribed tasks (and if you are unlucky it will not include fixing the
problem) and send it back. If it malfunctions again you go back to square
one but it is still not your fault. I know this is a bit like colouring by
numbers but use any other system and squaddies will be buggering about with
their kit and nothing will work ever!
