Gmail doesn’t recognize dots (.) as characters within a username. This way, you can add and remove dots to your username for desired address variations. For example, messages sent to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and [EMAIL PROTECTED] are delivered to the same inbox.
Please note that hyphens (-) or underscores (_) cannot be used in a Gmail address.
If you created your account with a dot in your username and you wish you hadn’t, you can change your 'Reply-to address.' To change your reply-to address:
1. Click 'Settings' at the top of any Gmail page.
2. Enter your [EMAIL PROTECTED] without a dot in the 'Reply-to address' field.
3. Click 'Save Changes.'
Please note that you must enter any dots that were originally defined as part of your username to log in to Gmail.

J'ai découvert que les messages reçus de personnes inconnues étaient adressées à [EMAIL PROTECTED] alors que mon email est [EMAIL PROTECTED] , sans le point. Cette observation plus quelques commentaires glanés sur le net me font penser qu'il y a un petit problème d'adressage chez gmail.
