Matt : You may want to visit rockymountroadcyclist.com and throw around your desire of racing. There could be some interest, if not, the roadies may be able to give you names of interest. I have been away from the cycling sport for some time, but do remember two racers from the area. One was living in Nashville, N.C. last name Bissette and the other is the surveyor for Civiltek Land Surveying in Spring Hope, N.C. . Bare in mind though that all abilities may not mesh very well and true racers don't relish having laggers beneath their capabilities during their training / racing season. Give it a try, you may be given a welcome mat and a chance to meet and make new training partners. Wishing you the best. --- On Wed, 2/25/09, Tim Lucas <[email protected]> wrote:

You have a good news/bad news situation here in Wilson. First the bad. This is a small city and most roadies in this town are seasoned riders who proclaim 70% of our rides as "recovery" rides. There will only be a very small handful of us who will want to hammer with you. I don't even know of anyone here with a road racing license so there may be lonely trips to race events. Good news is that once out of the city you'll notice a lot less traffic here than around Raleigh and usually more friendly. Good luck finding you a racing buddy! I just moved to this area, I've lived in Raleigh and went to NC State for the past few years. I might not be able to make it out for the lunch ride, I brought up the idea to my supervisor today and he didn't seem overly thrilled with the idea. I'll bring my stuff and hope, but I doubt its gonna fly. When DLST changes over though, I'll definitely be out there for the after work rides, we can hammer it up all we want. Also, is anyone looking to race road bikes (or mountain bikes, for that matter) this season? I'd love to have someone to carpool with especially since some races are pretty far away. I've already got someone I'm riding with for this weekend, but the weekend after next is the third Greenville training series is Greenville, SC and they race on the BMW test track. Should be interesting. Let me know, Matt Rothwell kin...@teamkinney wrote: > > Mike Kinney will be cycling from YMCA at lunch Wednesday. New guy > Matt will be joining me.
