Since Nick's revision of ride time did not come across the internet until
this afternoon, I showed up at his pre-appointed time at 12noon. It was a
pleasant solar phase of the diurnal cycle with light winds of 5-10mph with
temps 74-76. I had an opportunity to ride with all of my friends in a
peloton of one (although this particular rendition of a peloton was more
akin to endotrophic mycorrhizic coiled mass).

It was noted that the group was uniformly attired in a striking ensemble
of baby blue spandex highlighted with navy and white with an artistic
rendition of a male Ovis inscribed on the sleeve with attractive lettering.
Of course there were matching accoutrements (socks, gloves, head liners etc.
Shoes were noted to have tastefully painted black spots on the heels. The
sheen of gunmetal spandex shorts complemented the fashion statement which
will be featured in the upcoming GQ.

The group elected to tackle a short but spirited 22 mile route. I pulled
the entire ride and won all of the interval sprints, but unfortunately was
dropped on the final sprint coming down Highway 58. As often happens with
these events, crowd control at the finish was a problem. Two climbs around
the hilly I-95. The peloton was noted to be tightly packed in excellent
formation with no one following too close. The group was unusually quiet
today, with only a single expletive heard. Average speed would have been
20.6 except for the stragglers. I was appointed to provide a rare ride
report by the group. Doc
