I even gave Bert a tip on how to sream as loud as you can at black labs
that are making a bee line for you. Spooks them just for that second or
two you need to speed by them.

'newby'??
...i have ridden 3 diff times ~10-15 miles each.
and I'm a 'newby'? :)

The early slot was not that bad. Need to find my bike legs, however.
Thanks for the continuous pull & etiquette training, Nick!

Thurs am ride report: newby Bert Davenport and I did a nice 13
mi ride at 6:15 am on our hybrids. Avg. 16 mph. If I can convince Bert
getting up this early one day a week is OK, I'd be interested to see if
anyone else would want to do an early ride once a week.

Great ride, started with a tail wind and as Ronnie would say
don't waste it and we didn't.

        Zoom !!! Zoom !!!

With winds coming from the ESE, we decided to head towards Town
Creek and Bridgersville. Jim, David C., Chris H., Mike K., the other
bearded guy, Matt and I struck out for Town Creek. We got there so
quick that most riders wanted more so we continued on for Temperance
Hall and then Pinetops. Jim being short on time bypassed the ride
extension. The ride was very festive but the group stayed together the
entire ride. Back at the "Y" 40 miles later, Mike had our average at
21.3. Now for that second recovery drink!
