I rode the Whirligig route Tuesday and they were sweeping it-which make it a lot better. The area not swept was really bad. Since it is a 'more major' road than say, Horne's Church, it will probably have the smoother top put on it. The DOT guy said the secondary roads would keep the gravel top.
Just a note about the route, the tracks that you cross (not sure of the road) it's the only tracks on the route, are very bad on the far right side. The wood is completely worn out.
