.....
....if we are voting then this is my vote.
Like Nick said, keep away from the law.

"a picture of "Yosemite Sam"
holding his TWO 6 shooters"

...this will bring some levity into the picture.

These cases deal with negligence of driver and cyclist. Be careful what
you ask for. A bike is supposed to have reflectors on it (front and
back). I'm pretty sure nobody has a reflector on their bike. This will
hurt you when riding very early or very late.

The law is pretty simple - drivers are supposed to give you 2' when
passing you and should not pass unless they can safely do so.

A bike is generally treated as a car, so no double pace lines; no
rolling through red lights (I plead guilty), etc.

I'd keep away from the "law" in your sign. Just remind folks of basic
safe driving principles.

In the State regs it is dictated that a bicycle will be considered a
motor vehicle concerning the traffic laws, so the below should apply. It
also depends on what G.S. 20-150.1 says.

Nick should be able to see if there is any pertinent cases that have
been in the courts to test it.

I found this under the bicycle laws of NC.

20-149. Overtaking a vehicle.

(a) The driver of any such vehicle overtaking another vehicle proceeding
in the same direction shall pass at least two feet to the left thereof,
and shall not again drive to the right side of the highway until safely
clear of such overtaken vehicle. This subsection shall not apply when
the overtaking and passing is done pursuant to the provisions of G.S.
20-150.1.
