Sorry I caused y'all to have to stop. Thanks for hanging with me. Took
bike to Don when I got home and he said he could weld on a new drop out
hanger, but might take a while to locate one for an old Bianchi. Looks
like I might be out for a while.

Lessons learned:

Rule #1 - never shift chain rings standing up going uphill on a worn out
drive train
Rule #2 - never chunk your bike into a tobacco field out of frustration
Rule #3 - always have mechanical failures within 1/4 mile of a country
store that serves breakfast
Rule #4 - make sure your wife knows local geography before you head out
on a ride

Actual route was - packhouse, bloomery, hornes ch, old Smithfield/new
sandy hill ch rd, 581, 42, flower hill, Antioch ch rd, new sandy
hill(conner hill), 581, lisle rd, stoney hill ch rd, hornes, bloomery,
packhouse. Total approx 51 miles.

Steve, Tim, Chris and I continued on Old Smithfield rd/New Sandy Hill
Church road to 581 to pick up the Buckhorn loop. Kim pulled of at old
264. Not sure where doc pulled off at. Anyway, the wind was not
friendly. Tim was cranking so hard up one of the 581 hills he completely
wrenched off his derailleur breaking he hanger. No other damage to bike
and he didn't hit the pavement. He was out of commission tho and SAG'ed
in from Papa Jacks store. The three of us continued on 42 for the
buckhorn loop, keeping the pace fairly strong. (We had the BSG in mind).
No other mishaps the remainder of the ride. We assumed Tim's wife found
him at the store.

My pleasure Doc-you did your share of pulling too. That was a tough wind
and
I was glad to have someone to ride with. The guys had more in the tank
than
I did today!

Steve-Edward would like you to give him a call re. your bike. He
couldn't
find your number. Thanks!
