The last Descente$ shorts I bought only lasted a year. Back to izumi or will try cannondale this time. The heavier weight material last longer no matter which brand you use but the lighter weight material shorts breath better during warmer months. I haven't had issues with any brand. Tires on the other hand have drastically different life spans. I think the most durable longest lasting is the Continental Grand Prix 4000's.
