Steve, i actually watched craigslist and bought a used set of pedals and shoes. Mine are SPD SL style. I think i bought the shoes and pedals for maybe 45 dollars. I like that style fine. Easy to use and easy adjustment. When you do get them, be prepared to fall a couple of times while you get used to them!
