What a New Years Day! To bed at 1:00am, up at 4:15am. 3 hours sleep. Drove 2.5 hrs. to Salisbury. Left there on the bike with 10 other fools for a 130 mile bike ride to Wilkesboro and back via Brushy Mountain. A 13 mile climb at 6 to 8 percent. Up this mountain for over an hour, where is the frigen top? I knew I shouldn't have eaten all that junk at Christmas. This was an out and back so we had to climb the mountain twice. I tossed a bit of my lunch on the second climb, so I had to chill a bit as I watched the lead pack of 4 ride away. I did recover and was the 5th to finish but it was ugly. Rained steady for the last 4 hours with a head wind, and finished up under the lights. More than 10,000 feet of climbs. Drove home, 2.5hrs. 2 recovery drinks, (make that 3) and here I am.
