Great weekend for CNC in Oriental, N.C. Pete, Jenifer, James, Susan and I joined about 900 other cyclist. The 5 of us started with a 25 mile warm-up Fri. morning. JL, PW, SL and I added another 25 Friday afternoon after we woofed down some lunch. Sat. morning was chilly and windy. PW, JW cruise around for another 25 while JL, SL & I venture out for a 71 mile loop. Nasty headwinds for the first half but a great afternoon return trip. James and Pete camped on the waterfront and was a great setup for post ride recovery drinks, plus it was the start/finish for the event so there was always cyclist coming and going. Alan Jenkins and his son also cruised by us a few times on their mountain bikes. We also chatted with LDT, another local cyclist from Black Creek. Shrimp dinner Sat. evening under the big top beside camp. A pound of peel and eat shrimp with all the fixins. It rained both Friday and Sat. evenings but always finished up before daybreak. Sunday PW, SL and I cruised a 46 mile loop. Best day yet as the winds played more nicely today. Great weekend!!!
