Pete, Jennifer, James, BOB, bob, Steve B., Susan & I cruise out to Lucama
this evening for 26 miles. We had a brisk pace going out with a slight tail
wind. Took a break in Lucama while we listened to some dude tell stories about
riding his bike as a youngster. He finished up with "I can't ride anymore
because I'm fat and 44 years old" I'm looking around at our group and dang,
he'd be the youngest of us all. I guess his vision is also gone to hell :)
(Not that Susan or Jennifer look a day over 30! :) Whew!
Anyway, Pete kinda whines, jokes about our brisk pace/sprint to Lucama but
as the wind dies out and the air is cool, Pete delivers his 20mph pace during
his time on the front. Yea, I think he's ready for another CNC!
Great rides this week as the weather has been perfect. Even the lunch
rides have felt like fall. John o. and I are doing another 100K in the morning
as we look for saddle time in preparation of the North Carolina 1200K coming up
in just 17 days. I hope this weather holds till then!
