RUSA has total distance medals you can apply for yearly but they only go up to 
5,000 kilometers in which I got one last year.  A couple of years ago the Texas 
randos created the K-hound trophy for 10,000 k's in which I already have.  Then 
last year, Mark from Seattle rode 15,000 kilometers and collected a whole set 
of distance medals from RUSA and posted it on Facebook and now it's a new rando 
craze.  (K-hound and a half)  The medals are (5,000/4,000/3,000/2,000 & 1,000)  
If you knock down 15,000 you can apply for the whole set.  I just made it a 
goal early in the year and never let up.  It was insane, and I'll probably 
never play that game again.  Most of it was a lot of fun and I've met and 
ridden with some very interesting and talented cyclist.  That was the biggest 
reward.
