WILSON: Today marked the 15,000th mile of 2011 for our own Tim Lucas. A
fantastic accomplishment the whole herd takes pride in. A big group of 14
turned out which Tim covers below (I did not see the Kaiser so I’ll add him
here) but the rider of the Day was Tim Lucas. Like a pro of the peloton, Tim
was interviewed, photographed, had his bike photographed, and was photographed
with the group. I was waiting for someone to ask for his autograph. Adding to
the festive occasion were two spouses in attendance to see everyone off and
snap a few photos of their own.

Following the pre-ride ceremonies, under a sunny sky with a bit of wind, the
group rolled out Nash St. for a modified Lunch Box ride. As the colorful line
rolled all were watching the odometer as Tim only needed 8 miles to reach
15,000. The route moved from Nash St. on to Hornes Church Rd. As the ride
approached the 8 mile mark Tim breaks out his i-phone and films the rolling
reception just like a press motor bike at the Tour (see the link in the email
below). About 100 yds. from the intersection of West Hornes Church Rd and
Christian Rd. Tim finished his 15,000 mile! The peloton stopped and cheered
the moment, applause, woo hoos and even bikes were raised in celebration!
After a few minutes to celebrate, the ride continued on turning left on Simms
Rd then left again on to Country Side Rd a.k.a Madame Bovey Rd. A short rest
stop ensued at the intersection with Lamm Rd. Ronnie and DC needed to get back
so they continued on ahead of the main group. Beginning again, the ride turned
left onto Lamm Rd. continuing to Bloomery where the group turned right. A left
at Packhouse and in to Nash St. The group reformed again at Nash St to roll in
for the podium celebration at DD. 23 miles at an average that kept the party
rolling. The man of the hour supplied beverages for all, and he was formally
toasted for his grand achievement. A great day to be on a bike and grand
reason for celebration. It was especially nice to see Jeff Page back on his
second ride back after his mishap earlier this year.

Congratulation once again Tim. You have sacrificed to reach your mark and can
be justly proud of doing so. All the COWS join together in congratulating you.
Not only for the 15,000 miles but for the manner in which you have represented
us along the way. You have been a mentor, coach and riding partner to all of
us and we a very proud to call you one of our own. None of this will however
keep us from trying the beat you in a sprint or on climb nor will it lessen the
“razzing” we will dish out when the opportunity presents it self.
Remember...you are a COW, MMOOOOO!

Subject: [COWs] Thank you!

Thanks to all for sharing a ride that I will always remember. By far not the
most grueling event I've done this year, but very special all the same. And to
the bubble dudes for expanding their horizons today, cheers! (Jim, Doc,
surfdude, Kim, Bob L., Jeff (LR), Ronnie, DC, James, Wally, Jeff P., Steve S.,
New guy, Dave) It was a blast! I thank God every day that I'm able to throw a
leg over the saddle. It's been an awesome ride/adventure this year. Here's
hoping that all the CoW's have a healthy and safe 2012 with lots of miles and
smiles! Rock on!!!

P.S.

Just in case you wanna grab 2012 by the horns and let it rip! :)
