RUSA printed my TOC1200K Ride Report in their quarterly magazine that
came out a few weeks ago. Kinda cool!

As for keeping feet warm. Biggest concern is keeping your mid-section
warm. If your body temp lowers, your brain will constrict the blood
flow to your arms and legs. Your brain will ditch your hands and feet
to keep your organs warm and prolong your survival. I had on like 6
layers of stuff, including some wool. Second, I now have water proof
shoes 2 sizes too big. Room for thick wool socks and one of those
chemical heaters taped to the top of my toes. Below freezing I'll use
a plastic bag as another sock layer. Adding any of this to shoes that
already fit snug will worsen the problem as it'll restrict the blood
flow.
