Great job Tim!! Like the fact that you PRd. I'd like to give a shout out to you--our resident bike mechanic--for graciously taking the time to install my new chain as you were finalizing your own ride prep. Who knew it was gonna be so cool in June?? Thanks man!!!!
Loved the weather this weekend. Jordan Lake was nice as we crossed over for the Tour de Cure. We saw tons of triathletes training as we rode. We had about 556 riders this year and raised over $275k. What a great weekend to ride. BTW--coming back in yesterday, I zoned out (imagine that) and ran my bike off the road. Slowed it down and pulled back on without eating asphalt...yeah :-)! Got about 5-miles out from the finish and my front derailleur cable snapped...fortunately on the small chain ring. Thanks to Cycle Surgeon who was the last of two event mechanics to touch my bike which had started making a pinging noise 30 miles or so in to our 85-mile ride back from Aberdeen to Cary. Think he set the tension too high on that cable. The pinging is still there and still annoying! It was again a great ride overall. Burned off over 8,000 calories in 2-days. In closing, a funny story...one of my teammates, who is a great assistant DA for Wake County, booked her hotel reservations while multitasking. She booked Aberdeen, SD and was shocked at check-in; her sister almost beat her down but there were too many witnesses. We had room to accommodate them though.
