Tim & Susan, congratulations for your succsessful and fun ride together. I
know Tim is proud of you Susan, for riding in the brevet with him, and
especially for your outstanding performance among the big boys! Although, we
Breakfast Crew riders already know your capabilities and have drafted your
wheel many times.
Pete

Susan and I drove to Morrisville this morning where team "Lucas" did their
first brevet together. Some groups left out for earlier events but we left at
9:30am with 7 others. Susan even drops a few of them on our first long climb
away from Jordon Lake. Earns the groups respect early on and we pretty much
stay together throughout the ride, though we did drop a couple riders on the
home stretch. Lots of hills today as we travel to Pittsboro and Moncure. It's
funny, we would drop Susan on the downhills, and she kept rejoining the group
on the climbs. A very fun ride with just a dribble of rain a time or two.
Susan then leads our group to the finish. We join all my rando friends for a
cookout afterwards where we tell lies about all that crazy stuff we've done so
far this year. We cruised 71 miles with over 3,000 feet of climbs. I'm going
back to Raleigh tomorrow for a 200K as some of us prepare for the upcoming
1200K in just over 2 weeks now.
