7000 miles is very cool! You should go for 7,300! That would be a 20 mile per
day average. :)

I've got London/Edinburgh/London 1400K penciled on my calendar. Will have to
decide for sure on Jan. 5th to get a spot. Toronto is 2 weeks later so that is
my backup mid-summer ride.

Well done Tim. You’re becoming a regular published author these days.

Congrats on ONLY 12000 miles this year; you must be pushing 75000 total for
the last 6 or 7 years. Unbelievable . I wish that I could join you tomorrow,
but work will get in the way. I’m 150 miles short of 7000 for the
year...that’s my last milestone.

BTW...are you still hoping/planning to do the UK ride next year?

  Subject: [COWs] Just another Ride!

A very nice week of riding so far. Winds are more subdued this week.
Busy work has me just riding at lunch every day. RUSA ride and party over the
weekend. Twas the man last year, not nearly as much bling this year. RUSA did
publish my Cascades 1200K Ride Report in their latest magazine delivered last
week. They published my Taste of Carolina 1200K Ride Report last year, though
it was highly edited, and squeezed into the last 3 pages. This year I'm on
page 6, and lightly edited. They removed some of the explicit language.
Randonneuring is still a growing sport in the US. (3) 1200K's offered in my
rookie season, 5 last year and this year. 7 for next year, 8 if you count the
one just over the border in Toronto.
I now have 11,974 total miles for 2012, going for 12,000 tomorrow. It'll
probably be my last milestone for the year. Saving up for 2013. A far cry
from last year, though it's 10,000+ for 5 years running. Just thankful to have
stayed healthy enough to pull that off. Next year? I dunno. I've penciled in
a lot of crazy stuff.
