Part One:

KP, DC, Chad and I cruised out from DD's at 1:05. 53 degrees felt great in the
sun, cold in the shade. Weather stations had the winds less than 5 mph, but
flags were a good half salute on the way out. KP and coach wanted a little 10
mile time trial to see how soft she'd gotten since Savage Man. Easy pace up
58, then KP pulled us down Horne's Church, Sims Road and back Countryside. 10
miles in 27 minutes, so not shabby for DECEMBER, but....... The rest of the
crew now chip in getting us back to DD's and keeping our average above 20 for
the 22 miles.

Part Two:

We then trade out KP and DC for Bob. Chad, Bob and I head for Cliftonville,
Vaughn Chapel, Sandy Cross, back Old Carriage and London Church for 30 miles.
Bob and I do a couple long rotations to ensure that Chad gets Vaughn Chapel Rd.
(uphill and into the wind) Chad takes the whole stretch making it look easy.
This was not the guy from last week. Bob takes the climbs from Sandy Cross to
Old Carriage then it's easier sailing from there in. Again we kept the average
above 20mph. Chad and I get 53 miles for the day! I remember back in the good
ole days when we dusted off our bikes for the big New Years Day Ride hoping
we'd survive the 23 mile loop back into town. This year it'll be just another
ride. CoW's not hibernating anymore. Scary!
