Great ride today. The route worked especially well for this ride.

 Merry Christmas one and all!

Subject: {coWs} Sat no drop ride report

A strong group of nine met for Joe's birthday 40 mile no drop ride. No drop
has now become synonymous with recovery ride. Partly my fault, as per Bob L's
request I brought a sample of the Christmas baking that has kept me off the
bike the last couple of rides. Giving Lucas and DC a sugar load pre ride is a
big mistake. Group heads out w Nash into a strong head wind that does not let
up, w horne's, Strickland, hwy581. At times the pace slows to 14/15 into the
wind and climbing the rollers on 581. Turn onto Macedonia ch road, the sugar
kicks in and signals the end of the no drop ride. Lucas group breaks away and
a chase group forms pushing speeds 28/29. The catch is finally made and group
settles in at 24 down Macedonia, another attack on Vaughn's chapel, the group
settles in on tar river ch. another breakup on hwy 58 heading home. Regroup
for fellowship and hot chocolate at DD.
39 miles 19 avg.
Time to start training for the New Years day ride.
Happy birthday Joe
Great day to be on the bike.
I am out until after Christmas,
Best wishes for a Merry Christmas
