The COWS have been training hard for the upcoming New Year's Day ride, with groups going out everyday. The office is having a post holiday weight loss contest so I have not been riding, bulking up for the contest. For those not familiar with the NYD ride, it is a true no drop social ride, max speed 18 mph, slower is acceptable, distance 20 miles. Those riders still full of New Years Eve's spirit and wishing to go faster, will be encouraged to head out first and go on their merry way so as to not tempt the civilized to ride faster than tradition and New Years partying allows. Lula usually brings hot cider for the post ride fellowship, haven't heard from her yet(hint, hint). This is the ideal ride for single speeds, fixies, fenders and old full steel steeds.
