I dont like that 'kind' of bug-hiding patches (nor does cgf) but I can confirm that the problem is still present, using rsync-2.5.5-1 and cygwin-1.3.15-2.Yes, I did, and I mulled over it a bit. As far as I understood it, the new package doesn't introduce a new regression. It's just not clear if it solves a specific problem. Hmm, did I get something wrong?
I was able to reproduce it three times in a row a little ago.
The other "news" of rsync-2.5.5-2 is the use of gcc3.2 and the "optional signature-checking" setup script.
