Either due to random coincidence, or some complex interaction between my
change and the bug you were experiencing.

I wrote that patch before I read your bug report.

The cvs HEAD is, by definition, the continuosly evolving. Expecting it to
work _always_ is unrealistic.

Of course it is a good idea to keep current on what else is happening with
setup, but in this case, it wouldn't have helped, because you were the first
person to report this bug.
