I guess it needs a final say-so from cgf before it's worth packaging it up
right? It's not really much of a 'porting' job, all it needed was a
Makefile change, but I want to go back and make the Makefile work on both
cygwin/gnu platforms and trad Unix.
Gotta do these things right when it's something so mission-critical.
